I-19 Border Patrol Checkpoint
U.S. Customs and Border Protection
Tubac, Arizona
The scope of the project included the widening and addition of a third lane of the northbound Interstate 19, approximately 25 miles north of the United States/Mexico border. The checkpoint facility itself is 115 feet long, 105 feet wide and 40 feet tall from the road surface to the apex of the fabric and steel canopy structure. The canopy is fitted with lighting systems to provide for the safety and security of Border Patrol officers, and the fabric covering assists with temperature regulation and protection from the elements.
